Pretty Old's "Assorted Gougeables" is a collection of lo-fi slow songs recorded mostly in Seattle–but also in Los Angeles and New York. The songs were written and record by Zack Bolotin, then sent to friends Annie Truscott (Chastity Belt/Routine), Tomo Nakayama, Jason Clackley (Dreamdecay/The Exquisites) , and Meredith Lampe (Work Wife/Colatura) who then added vocals, violin and more. The songs draw inspiration from writers like Raymond Carver and Roald Dahl, the Pacific Northwest, hotels and motels, roadside attractions and all sorts of other things that make us nostalgic suckers. After being inactive for almost ten years, this is the first Pretty Old release in quite some time.
"Headless" is a slightly different road trip song, premiering here.
